Whether as a New Year’s resolution or simply because this is already a concern and you need inspiration, here are 5 suggestions of healthy dishes that you can pair, guilt-free, with a good Mandriola wine.
1. Grilled salmon with orange sauce
Salmon is rich in omega-3s and protein, which makes it very nutritious as well as tasty. The secret to cooking it perfectly begins with seasoning – with plenty of lemon and a pinch of salt – which should ideally be done the day before cooking.
Grilling it is not much of a science, so the differentiating element of this recipe is the orange sauce. In a frying pan you put butter, salt, nutmeg, pepper, and natural orange juice. Stir over medium heat until it has a nice texture and you’re done. Ready to go on the table and accompanied by a glass of white wine, very fresh!
2. “Bruschetta”
Created in Italy by farm workers to use up the leftovers from the day before, this dish initially consisted only of a slice of bread covered with olive oil. Nowadays, bruschetta is a bit more elaborate, but still very simple to make.
All you need is slices of bread lightly toasted, fresh cherry tomatoes cut into pieces, and finally grated cheese on top, to taste. Then it goes in the oven and that’s it. Ready to be savored together with a good glass of Mandriola red wine.
3. Sweet potato and letil pie
Another vegetarian and very tasty recipe. The sweet potato and lentil pie is simple to prepare, and the first step is to stew the lentils. You can add garlic, onion, bell pepper, coriander, and even add other vegetables like carrots and tomatoes, all finely chopped. At the same time, boil the sweet potato to make a puree.
Finally, in a tray you will arrange and alternate, in layers, the mashed potatoes and the stew. You should finish with a good layer of puree. Brush everything with egg yolk and put it in the oven until golden brown. A warm dish that calls for a good red wine!
4. Turkey and spinach Wrap
We now move on to a lighter, lunch-faced, marmite and Mandriola white wine dish. You will need wraps or tortillas, which you can buy ready-made or make at home. For the filling you will need shredded turkey breast, carrot shavings, spinach (previously cooked), and cream cheese, for those who like it.
Then just arrange the ingredients on the tortilla and roll it up. Here is a simple, practical, and fresh option. A healthy dish perfect to take with you and enjoy anywhere.
5. Stuffed eggplant
For this recipe you’ll need eggplant and little else. Initially you cut the eggplant in half, horizontally, so that you have two equal parts for stuffing. Then, cook them for a while until they are slightly soft. Once they are at this point, take them out of the water and with a spoon remove the inner part (pulp).
In a pan, sauté this pulp with olive oil, garlic, and a pinch of salt. On a low heat add meat (beef or chicken, shredded) or fish (tuna is perfect) or vegetables (finely chopped). Finally, simply arrange the eggplants on a tray greased with olive oil, fill with the pan mixture, cover with mozzarella cheese, and bake in the oven for au gratin. To go with it, you can serve it well with white or red wine.
These 5 recipes for healthy dishes are enough to make your mouth water. But to give them a little more flavor, accompany them with a good glass of wine. You just have to keep a balance, as in everything in life.
So, take note of this Mandriola tip: always alternate between white and red!
