1. “Excesso de Bagagem” by JEL
Where: Espaço Vita, Braga
Qhen: December 2, 2023, 9:30 PM
This is JEL’s first solo performance, where he presents himself just as he is, without any character. He reveals himself to the audience in a raw and authentic manner, sharing life experiences without reservations or censorship. With over 20 years of experience in making people laugh, he brings a rich baggage of behind-the-scenes stories from the entertainment world and personal experiences that make us question and celebrate the absurdities and wonders of everyday life.
2. “Anda Tudo a Mamar” from the Young Conservativ
Where: Salão Brazil, Coimbra
When: December 6, 2023, 9:00 PM
This is a show about the meaning of being a young adult in Portugal. Bruno Henriques and Sérgio Duarte are the creators of this satirical performance about the state of the country and the challenges that young people face in entering the job market and achieving financial autonomy. The central theme is the art of ‘mamanço’ (sponging off others), and the result is a provocative, engaging, and hilarious experience that challenges notions of what it means to contribute to society.
3. “Uma Nêspera no Cu” by Bruno Nogueira
Where: Altice Arena, Lisboa
When: December 7, 2023, 9:00 PM
The group behind the cult podcast has transformed into a hugely successful live show. It has sold out multiple times and is now back with more intriguing moral dilemmas and a touch of insanity. In addition to the trio of Bruno Nogueira, Filipe Melo, and Nuno Markl, the show also features several special guests. What’s to come is still unknown – whether it will stick to the original format or take on a new version – but you can prepare yourself for a good session of laughter with plenty of quirkiness thrown in.
4. “Lado Positivo” by Hugo Sousa
Where: São Mamede CAE, Guimarães
When: December 21, 2023, 9:30 PM
Following his previous solo show, “Praticamente Estável” (“Practically Stable”), Hugo Sousa returns with his ninth stand-up comedy solo show, “Lado Positivo” (“Positive Side”). A blend of engaging storytelling and intelligent humor that will lead the audience to see the positive side of life, with captivating stories and sharp, witty observations that resonate with everyone.
5. “Síndrome de Lisboa” by Carlos Coutinho Vilhena
Where: Centro Cultural de Belém, Lisboa
When: December 21, 2023, 9:00 PM
Carlos Coutinho Vilhena takes the stage in this show centered around themes such as therapy, self-analysis, and understanding emotions and dilemmas. A humorous and surprising approach to consciousness, guilt, how we perceive others, and also how we see ourselves.
