What is the Harvest Programme at Quinta da Aveleda?

The Harvest Programme at Quinta da Aveleda brings together a range of activities over the course of a week. Participants have the opportunity to get a closer look at the work of the grape harvest, learn about grape varieties and harvest conditions, and also take part in the production process. But there’s more: in this idyllic place, there are tastings, walks through the vineyards and concerts, in a week that promises to be memorable.

What can you expect from the Harvest Programme at Quinta da Aveleda?

The Harvest Programme at Quinta da Aveleda goes far beyond grape picking, starting with various general activities and extra events. It runs from the 2nd to the 9th of September 2023 and includes the following initiatives:

General programme

The day starts with a reception at the Quinta’s Welcome Centre at 9 a.m., followed by the grape harvest activity. At mid-morning there is a wine tasting session with a combination of flavours. You can also prepare your own bread to savour during the traditional lunch at the estate, which includes the emblematic Sopa das Vindimas.

In the afternoon, the programme continues with a relaxing stroll through the 8 hectares of historic gardens at Quinta da Aveleda, which are home to more than 120 types of plants and animals.

2nd of september: “Wine Workshop” and S. Pedro concert from 8 pm.

3rd, 6th and 8th of september: “Escape Garden” game and a harmonised wine tasting.

9th of september: The return of the “Wine Workshop”, this time with special guests, and another wine tasting. On the 9th of september, Madalena Vidigal, a wine tourism consultant and creator of Antena 3’s “5 Minutos de Vinho” podcast, will join us.
