Grace and Frankie (Netflix)
The final and seventh season of the series “Grace and Frankie” brought to a close one of the best comedic drama series of our time. Actresses Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin play the roles of Grace and Frankie, two married women who see their marriages destroyed when their husbands come out as gay and announce they are marrying each other!
It is a story about friendship and starting over in old age, which has inspired audiences for 8 years. The series follows the daily lives of Grace and Frankie, who are forced to live together and, at cost, create a close and eccentric relationship. Laugh and, when you have to, wipe the tears from the corner of your eye. Accompany the evening with a glass of wine and toast the friendship with Mandriola red wine.
2. The Summer That Changed My Life (Prime Video)
One of the best series of the moment! The Summer That Changed My Life is a story about a first love and the perfect memories of summer with friends. The first season follows the main character, Belly, during a vacation at her family friends’ beach house, a summer that had everything to go well – only nothing goes as planned.
Between enduring friendships, intergenerational dramas, and mother-child relationship dynamics, a romantic (and complicated) teenage history develops. Thus, a love triangle is born between childhood friends, with a lot of emotion – and beautiful beaches – mixed in. In the most tense moments, relax with a light, refreshing white wine: Mandriola white.
3. La Casa de Papel: Korea (Netflix)
What if you traveled to Korea to watch the crime of the century? The director, Ryu Yong-Jae took on the challenge of making a remake of one of Netflix’s best series, “La Casa de Papel”, in his home country. This adaptation starts from an unexpected basis – the peaceful reunification between North and South Korea after nearly 80 years of division. As a consequence, the countries are preparing to print a new currency. As in the original Spanish series, a man, known only as “The Professor,” develops an audacious plan to steal it.
If you are wondering “why should I watch a series with a similar plot?”, the differences between countries and actors make this production unique and very special. “La Casa de Papel: Korea” is filled with scenes of action, suspense and mystery. Pour each of your friends a glass of Mandriola red and try to follow the plot at full speed.
4. Physical (Apple TV+)
Do you like dark humor? “Pyshical” focuses on the day-to-day life of a housewife. In this inspiring series, we follow the character Sheila Rubin (Rose Byrne) on an individual journey of rediscovering her self-love through… aerobics classes.
There are colorful ‘looks’, a soundtrack with big hits, the typical 80’s aesthetic, well-built characters, and a script that is a unique insight into the power of friendship and personal change. Let’s toast to it, with a white Mandriola!
5. Man vs. Bee (Netflix)
After going through a divorce, Trevor starts working as a caretaker in a luxurious mansion with numerous pieces of art and even collector cars. There’s just one problem: Trevor (played by Rowan Atkinson the eternal ‘Mr. Bean’) couldn’t be more clumsy, has serious temper problems and, to make matters worse, finds himself in the middle of a battle between man and insect. Yes, insect! It is a stubborn bee whose sole mission seems to be to drive him to the edge of despair.
During the 9 episodes that make up the first season you can expect a lot of adventures and laughs. Get into the spirit with a glass of Mandriola red, an elegant, relaxed, and fun wine.
Enjoy the month of October for moments of pure entertainment and relaxation with these 5 best series of the moment, but don’t stop there! Soon we will share 5 more series suggestions that you can’t miss, and remember that a Mandriola to go along with it makes the marathon even more fun.
