There is no right recipe for love, but a special dinner is a sure way to surprise your better half on Valentine’s Day. That’s why we have put together three delicious recipes, perfect for the most romantic night of the year: they are very easy to prepare, so you have more time for the two of you, and they have aphrodisiac ingredients to spice up the relationship. Add a bottle of Mandriola wine and a dessert to finish, and you’re all set to honor Valentine’s Day.

    1.      Baked salmon with honey and mustard | 2 people | 30 min

The charm of this recipe lies in one of its ingredients. It has everything to do with a courtship, is sweet as a declaration of love, and is often used to describe those couples who spend all their time cuddling. It is the honey that brings this recipe – and a very special Valentine’s Day dinner – to life. Here’s how to prepare it:

    Ingredients:

    – 2 salmon fillets

    – 1 tablespoon of mustard

    – 2 tablespoons of honey

    – 1 clove of garlic

    – 1 tablespoon of butter

    – Salt, pepper, olive oil to taste

    Preparation:

1 – Combine in a bowl the honey, mustard, salt, garlic, and a pinch of pepper.

2 – Reserve some of this mixture to serve as a sauce and use the rest to marinate the salmon for 30 minutes to an hour.

    3 – Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

4 – Place the salmon in the baking pan, previously greased with butter or olive oil, and bake it for 20 minutes.

In a few steps it is ready to serve. Serve it with a fresh salad and it’s perfect. All that is missing is the wine! Accompany it with a seductive Mandriola white wine and enjoy.

    2.      Beef stew with giger | 2 people | 60 min

After a fish dish, we suggest a meat stew. But not just any stew! This is an exotic version of the typical (and delicious) Portuguese dish, with a touch of ginger that transports you to paradisiacal destinations. Try it out on Valentine’s Day and save the recipe for whenever you want to surprise your friends.

    Ingredients:

    – 400g diced beef

    – 2 cloves of garlic

    – 1 onion

    – 50g fresh ginger

    – 10 dl of red wine for cooking

    – Salt, pepper, garlic, olive oil and parsley to taste

    Preparation:

1 – Start seasoning the meat with pepper, salt and a little red wine.

2 – Then, in a pan, add olive oil, chopped onion, garlic and parsley. Let it braise a little and add the meat. Stir it all with a spoon and add water. Let it cook for about 30 minutes.

3 – When the cooking time is over, only the key ingredient is missing: the ginger (peeled and sliced).

4 – Let it cook a little longer until the sauce has thickened and the meat is tender.

While the meat is simmering, make sure you have a bottle of Mandriola red wine ready. This dish is hot and calls for a rich, full-bodied wine that lingers in your mouth like a good conversation. Then, just bring it to the table and enjoy it on the most romantic night of the year.

    3.      Mushroom and asparagus Risotto | 2 people | 45 min

Did you know that asparagus is aphrodisiac? Besides, they are delicious, fresh and add points to any recipe. This Risotto is easy to prepare and very creamy, a safe choice for Valentine’s Day. It shows dedication and taste, but doesn’t take long to prepare. It is a good vegetarian option and suitable to prepare with two. Check the steps to prepare it:

    Ingredients:

    – 150g fresh green asparagus

    – 150g sliced portobello mushrooms

    – 150g Risotto Rice

    – 25 dl of white wine for cooking

    – ½ chopped onion

    – 1 tablespoon of olive oil

    – 2 tablespoon of butter

    – 1 chopped garlic clove

    – 60g grated parmesan cheese

    – Salt and pepper to taste

    How to prepare the broth:

1 – Cut the stalk off the asparagus and mushrooms. Wash them well.

2 – Boil the asparagus in hot water with a little salt, for 5 minutes.

3 – Remove the asparagus from the water, cut into pieces and set aside.

4 – While you heat the chicken stock in a saucepan, melt the butter and saute the chopped onion, then sauté the mushrooms and let them sear.

5 – Remove the mixture, add it with the asparagus and store in a place where it will keep warm.

    How to prepare the rice:

    1 – In a saucepan, melt 20 g of butter

2 – Add the risotto rice

3 – Gradually add white wine at intervals and let the rice absorb

4 – Add the grated cheese and let stand for two minutes

5 – Mix in the asparagus and mushrooms.

Since vegetarian risotto goes perfectly with white wine, accompany it with a very fresh white Mandriola.

And for dessert? Don’t miss the traditional chocolate strawberries. A final note for singles: any of these recipes can be made as individual portions (to celebrate self-love) or in larger quantities to bring together a group of friends. On the most romantic night of the year there is no right recipe for love, but there is always a Mandriola wine to make this a special dinner.
